Book an appointment
Urgent appointments for today
We hold daily urgent bookable on the day clinics. The doctor or advanced paramedic practitioner may telephone you or, if you prefer or it is deemed more appropriate, an in person appointment will be made for you.
All appointments are for 10 minutes only and are for urgent symptoms which cannot reasonably wait for a booked appointment.
In the event of a significant delay we will try to contact you and give you an updated time. Please make sure that we have your latest contact information, including your mobile phone number.

- Appointments are by phone or face to face. Speak to our receptionists who will help you with you the most appropriate appointment.
- Appointments with the nurses are either by phone or in person depending on the nature of the appointment.
- Please note that all appointment times are subject to change at short notice.
- Appointments are for one person only; a separate appointment must be made for each individual.

Sickness certificates (fit notes)
You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception on 01892 722 007 before 9.30am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

How to help the GP and get the most from your appointments
- Make sure you turn up at the right surgery! Check the reminder text for the location of your appointment.
- Think about what you are going to say. The GP will want to know things like how long you have had symptoms, what have you tried already and what makes it better or worse.
- Be quick where possible please. The GP has 15 minutes to fully assess you, make a plan and write their notes with any forms required.
- Book appointments for medical issues only. You should contact the hospital directly if it is to do with your hospital appointments or care.
- If there is time we will try to sort multiple issues but do the most important ones first. You may need to come back another day if we go past 15 minutes.
- Please wear a mask if you have a cough, fever or sore throat. It is not compulsory but it is to prevent the spread of infection to staff and fellow patients.

Change or cancel an appointment
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.
If you are cancelling please telephone us on 01892 722 007 as soon as possible, and at least 30 minutes before your appointment time. This will enable us to offer your appointment to someone else.
Alternatively you can cancel your appointment online using the NHS app if you are signed up to the service.
Out of hours
Improved access
You can now see a GP or other healthcare professional during:
- weekday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.00pm (some practices offer early morning appointments)
- Saturdays and Sundays/Bank Holidays
These appointments offered could be:
- At your registered practice
- At another local GP practices
- At another local NHS service - such as a General Practice Hub
What type of appointments will be available?
Evening appointments between 6.30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday will be offered by a practice in your local area. These appointments will be offered by a range of clinical professionals. Some practices in your local area may offer early morning appointments.
On Saturdays, a clinical professional will be available between 8am to 12pm at a practice in your local area (times may vary).
On Sundays and Bank Holidays a GP will be available between 9am to 12.30pm at a hub in Tonbridge or Maidstone.
Who can book these appointments?
Improved Access appointments are available for all patients in west Kent, regardless of where they are located. This means that patients can be seen by a clinical professional 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. It will be unlikely that you will be seen by your normal GP and it is likely that you will have to go to a different surgery to your registered practice for these appointments.
How can I book an appointment?
In order to book these appointments, you contact your surgery reception staff as normal. You will not be able to phone the reception staff on Saturdays, Sundays / Bank Holidays or between 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday.
Sevenoaks urgent treatment centre
Sevenoaks Urgent Treatment Centre, based at Sevenoaks Hospital is Open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and has two GPs stationed there throughout the day.
The service is suitable for patients for same day appointments that cannot wait 24 hours to be seen.
Patients can be seen by a GP in the UTC either by obtaining an appointment through NHS 111 by asking for a booked appointment, or alternatively signposted to attend as a walk-in.
Life threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Urgent but not life threatening
Visit an urgent care centre if:
- You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
